Immunotherapy with sugar cane extracts resulted in considerably lower oocyst production in chickens challenged with local isolates of Eimeria (E. tenella, E. acervulina, and E. necatrix) as compared to challenged control group. OPG was at peak on day 9th post challenge and mean OPG of control group was significantly higher (P < 0.05) as compared to chickens in both the experimental groups (A and B) (Fig. 1). However, there was apparently lower OPG in group B as compared to group A; although the difference was statistically non-significant (P > 0.05).
