Supported Pt catalysts were prepared by impregnation method. Typically, f-SiO2 (Aerosil 380, Degussa, SBET 380 m2/g), p-SiO2 (porous granular SiO2, Qingdao Haiyang Chemical Co., Ltd., SBET 400 m2/g) or mesoporous SBA-15 (self-made, SBET 800 m2/g), was added into an aqueous solution of H2PtCl6, respectively, then the impregnated samples were dried at 110 C overnight, and calcined at 300 C for 4 h in a flow of 20% O2/Ar. The samples were further reduced in H2/Ar at 300 C for 1 h. The loading of Pt in the silica supported catalysts was in the range of 0.05–1.0 wt.%, which was determined by ICP analysis. Hereafter, three representative catalysts with Pt loading of 1.0 wt.% were denoted as Pt/f-SiO2, Pt/p- SiO2 and Pt/SBA-15, respectively.
