More then thirty years ago, there were many nocvices and monks living in the temple on the other side of the Mekong River. These temples were popular places for dmeditation. There were a total of six temples and a school as well. Nowadays, most of these tem-ples are empty. Most novices and monks prefer to stay in temples in the town of Luang Prabang where there are more opportunities to learn. In Luang Prabang there are many private schools and some libraies. These days the temples on the other side of the Me-kong River are very quite.
