2.3.2. Carotenoids analysis by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
The composition of solvents and the isocratic conditions used were described previously by Olives Barba et al. (2006). Analysis was performed using Shimadzu LC-20AC pumps, a SPD-M20A diode array detector, and a LUNA C-18 column (4.6 250 mm i.d., 5 lm). The mobile phase consisted of methanol (solvent A)/ acetonitrile + triethylamine (TEA) 9 lM (solvent B) 90:10 at a flow rate of 0.9 ml/min. The column temperature was 30 C and the absorbance was read at 475 nm.
