Troponin levels at the time of patients’ presentation to the emergency department
are shown as multiples of the 99th-percentile level, according to
the adjudicated final diagnosis. The boxes represent interquartile ranges,
the horizontal line in each box represents the median (the absence of a
horizontal line indicates a median >10 times the 99th percentile), and the
whiskers show the minimum and maximum values (excluding outliers that
were more than 1.5 times the values represented at each end of the box).
