The parameters of an ITI (Institute Straumann, Basel,
Switzerland) solid implant were used as reference to
model a cylindrical screwed implant and a 4.0 mm high
solid abutment. The simulated implant and abutment
were simplified to 1 unit (Figure 2). The profile of a full
porcelain superstructure (maxillary first molar) was
constructed with the use of the 3D Sensing System
(Shanghai Digital Manufacturing Corp., Shanghai,
China) using structure light scanning technique.
