The Information Systems Group of Xerox Corporation established such a career information center to provide resources to any employee on request. Included in the materials available are handbooks outlinging career paths, workbooks for self-anaylsis, and videotapes on career. Playback facilities are at every location, used for skills training programs. Such videotaps include interviews with key executives, panel discussions with groups of employees representing different kinds of jobs or interest (for example, Female managers), and instructional tapes on how to do career planning. Xerox also uses an open job-posting system, counselors in headquarters locations, and a computer-based management replacement inventory with search capability.
