Like most other schools, Nyāya-Vaiśeṣika regards everyday life (saṃsāra) as suffering, and spiritual liberation (mokṣa, a state beyond transitory pain and pleasure) as its antidote.
In this school’s teaching, one who has attained mokṣa while alive continues to live in the world (like jīvanmukti) for the duration of their natural lifespan.
