Universities may be judged by their performance
in preparing graduates with competencies that enable
themto work effectively in today’s complex work environment.
Our educators need to find a balance between teaching
accounting graduates with technical skills and
equipping themwith the necessary generic knowledge and
skills. Universities should establish career-development
centers to connect alumni, employers, and students. These
career-development centers serve as the conduit of information
about the real work life of accounting-related jobs.
