Subgroup analysis after splitting the total congestive heart failure sample at the prespecified values for the relevant prog-nostic indices (that is, at a peak oxygen uptake of 14 ml/min/kg and at a distance covered during a six minute walk test of 450 m) resulted in significant differences in all quality of life scales (figs 2B and 2C).
