This museum is character-filled. Not only in the architecture, and the collection, but also the man who started it and runs it to this day. Uncle Jack, a gentle elderly man, presides over his place of passion.
The museum has no fancy display settings, but is curated in a way that speaks of soul. There are cobwebs and dust and the sounds of chickens through open doors and windows, but it all adds to the charm and authenticity of the place.
Take the time to look at the many photos, news clippings and didactic boards explaining the early days of Chiang Mai and recent history. A good start to any visit to Chiang Mai, with the Wat (temple) Ket on same complex.
