Health toget 'urgent' policy review
Public Health Minister Rachata Rachatanavin has launched an "urgent review" of health policies and will work with officials to identify priorities, which he said would take a month.
Speaking after his first meeting with officials at the ministry yesterday, Dr Rachata said he would work on solving urgent problems as well as launching medium and long-term projects.
No details have yet been finalised, but Dr Rachata said the four major priorities were to improve general health by providing better access to health care services; to create a long-term health policy to seek participation from all sectors; and to develop more capable health professionals and better working environments.
Dr Rachata said officials will apply sufficiency economy principles in their work culture by cancelling unnecessary and extravagant gatherings, gifts and alcoholic drinks at parties.
