Figure 7 shows the simulation results for the average buffer length.
When the offered load at which the maximum throughput is obtained is 1.900 Mbps, the average buffer length of each node is lower than 1.
The network situation in which the throughput is maximum does not satisfy assumption (2).
When the offered load is high, the average buffer length of each node is higher than 1. This network situation satisfies assumption (2).
According to [6], the network capacity in a string wireless multi-hop network of one-way traffic without RTS/CTS is saturated when the offered load is larger than that for the maximum throughput. Next, the throughput is shown to be stable.
We consider a similar situation to occur in the string wireless multi-hop network with RTS/CTS.
