2.2 Multiset Recombination
The recombination operator is responsible for the combination of
chromosomes to produce offspring that share genetic material of
both parents. There is a great variety of recombination operators
in accordance with the representation of the genes and
chromosomes (e.g. binary strings, vectors of real numbers or
trees) of individuals and the type of problem to be solved (e.g.
optimization of real functions, permutations or binary strings). All
these operators can be used in MuGA through equivalence
between MP and SP, as well as others which have been or will be
developed [14][15][16]. Nevertheless we can design new
operators using the number of copies to make a genotype
associated with the various parameters of the genetic algorithm
such as the probability of application, the number of cutting
points, the strength of individuals to spread their genes, etc. A
wide range of possibilities is available to explore the usefulness of
this information [11]. In this paper we do not exploit this operator
in its adapted form.
