The main part of the user interface
The main part of the user interface for VOD service is a web view in which several thumbnails representing the videos recommended by the system managers are displayed. If a user selects a thumbnail, then the video associated with it is played on the whole screen. The user interface for VOD service is shown in Figure 7.
The main part of the user interface for LBS is a map view as shown in Figure 8. We can zoom in/out and move the map. On the map, we can find many images scattered. Each of the images represents a point of interest (POI) located at the spot where the image is placed. If a user selects an image on the map, then the video associated with it is played on the window. All the images displayed on the map are also displayed in the area labeled Thumbnails in the figure. Users can click an image in this area instead of the image on the map in order to play a video. Setting menu allows users to check the version of the application and enabled networks.
Since there are five menu items in the main menu, we should have at least five activities (HomeActivity, NvodActivity, VodActivity, InformationActivity, SettingActivity), one activity per main menu item. From the user interfaces, we can notice that all main menu items are always enabled. Therefore, we should have a class (UiController) in which the call-back functions for invoking those activities are enrolled so that the five activities can inherit this class.
In UiController, methods to initialize the menu buttons, menu button listeners, the banner, and the web view are defined. The main activity of our application downloads channel information and extracts the thumbnails of the programs that are being streamed. NvodActivity displays channel information and the thumbnails in Channel list (refer to Figure 6).
