They include the following: management might need to devote a considerable amount of time to the start-up procedures and decisions, key personnel might have to by diverted from domestic responsibilities to help with the company’s export activities; additional plant facilities might be needed; catalogues, brochures and other sales promotion material might need to be translated into a foreign language; the product might need to be modified to meet foreign market specifications; credit terms might need to be extended because of competition, local custom and transit time.
