Provision and type of shelter had a significant
influence on the production of redclaw
under earthen pond conditions. Results
showed that when no shelter was provided,
production was limited, primarily because
of decreased survival. Differences
between shelter types were also significant
with regard to survival. Mean individual
growth for each treatment did not vary significantly.
However, the product of growth
and survival resulted in clear differences in
biomass at harvest.
