The Royal Chitralada Projects have three main objectives: to conduct experiments, to serve as models, and to operate on a non-profit basis.which receives support from government agencies and has no regular income or expense. Projects under this form include the raising and breeding of fish, demonstration forestry, experimental rice fields, dairy cow farming, biogas production, and crop planting.
The second form is semi-commercial. Projects under this form have income and expense. They are called semi-commercial because, there is no distribution of profits. All profits are returned to the business for expansion. Among these projects are a dairy farm, milk center, experimental rice mill, rice husk grinding and compressing plant, fruit juice plant, the Suan Dusit powdered milk plant, milk-pellet plant, cheese plant, and alcohol distillation plant for fuel research.
Many interested parties, school groups, and foreign visitors have sought permission to visit the grounds of Chitralada Villa to learn from the work of the Royal Chitralada Projects, initiated by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
