Concluding remarks
In this paper, a systematic design procedure for an international productionlogistics
network system is proposed and investigated. This enables the
minimisation of total costs incurred in the system. Its case application was also
provided in terms of the investigation of an ideal production-logistics network
in a future ASEAN-China region. Actual data of operation cost and economic
indices of each country's manufacturing technology level were collected and
evaluated for this purpose. The results obtained through this analysis certify
its effectiveness as a decision support model/database to determine an investment plan of global operation from the minimum cost point of view. In
particular, it enabled the study to determine a possible situation of parts/
components production-logistics activity in a future ASEAN environment,
where possible new member countries were included.
