The dial settings on an eMCP are much different than standard MCPs or even electronic trip circuit breakers. The dials may include a specific adjustment for the motor FLA and motor design type as illustrated in Fig. 5. This information can be easily collected from the motor nameplate. Once the dials are set, the eMCP trip curve is automatically programmed to safely protect the motor across the entire operating range and ensure NEC compliance. This is a significant step forward in safety, motor protection and code compliance.
