The most important results from the pilot project
are: (a) for small size surveys, the pseudo-kinematic
has been proved to be the most appropriate
method regarding the cost, (b) for surveys of bigger
scale (e.g., national highway network) the kinematic
method is more suitable since it implies
lower cost and less time, (c) the combine use of
GPS/GIS is the appropriate method for such cases,
(d) the GPS/GIS technology can be integrated with
other technologies like video recording, photologging
etc. In such cases there is an additional
cost for the equipment and the special vehicle
which is needed.
