A full evaluation of Phase Two was published
by Liverpool Public Health Observatory in
summer 2009. This involved a baseline and
follow-up questionnaire survey, which were
conducted in children‟s centres with parents or
carers of preschool children four years or
younger (with both a Snack Right intervention
group and a control group). In addition, 23
interviews and 2 focus groups were conducted
with a total of 33 parents or carers to provide
feedback from the Snack Right events and
views on snacking. This showed the secondary
behavioural goals had been largely fulfilled and
indicated the families Snack Right engaged
had moved into Prochaska and DiClemente‟s
„contemplation stage‟ in relation to giving more
fruit and vegetables to their children.
