Colour cosmetics saw strong value growth of 20% in 2012. Diversification in colour cosmetics continued to take place, with products being available in all price segments targeting consumers of all ages, professional levels and incomes. In 2012, the natural look remained a popular trend in make-up as it was wearable in many occasions, be it for work or at parties. Pigmented pink lip colours, thick eyebrows and cats’ eyes were also popular among women as this helped to place the right focal point on the face. Products with added value, such as anti-ageing and high SPF, were also favoured as they provide essential protection for the skin.
