Differential patterns emerged when using raw versus residualized scores of reactive and proactive aggression. Compared to correlations between PD traits and raw aggression scores, somesignificant relationships became statistically insignificant (e.g. antisocial PD traits and reactive aggression). The use of residualized scores of reactive and proactive aggression allows assessing correlates of ‘pure’ aggression subtypes independent of the other aggression type, and thus facilitates drawing aggressiontype specific conclusions
