Materials and Methods
The study was approved by the ethical committee of the
Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University (Chiang
Mai, Thailand) and the procedures followed were in
accordance with the ethical standards for human experimentation
established by the Declaration of Helsinki of
placebo group (P < .001). No adverse effect of ginger on
pregnancy outcome was detected.
Conclusion: Ginger is effective for relieving the severity of
nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. (Obstet Gynecol 2001;97:
