Like that young boy who dream about his favourite toy car for next Christmas, I dream about a colourful future. Usually, I classify my future plans in two; plans related to my immediate family and others related to my personal career.
As an educator it is inevitable to dream about being the ideal teacher of your own students. In so doing, the teacher is to broaden his intellectual spectrum and to master his communication skills. This is my immediate future plan!
In the near future, I plan to specialize in the teaching of Science through a Master’s degree program. This will help me to develop my skills and teaching experience. I believe that such a program of study will give me the opportunity to reflect critically and constructively and will serve me to better understand the philosophy behind todays’ pedagogical techniques.
In the long-term, I am also seeking to formalise my curiosity about nanoscience and its technology as this is the twenty-first century cutting-edge technology to revolutionise the whole world. A Master’s degree program would enhance my growing interest in the field and would also serve as a stepping stone towards further research.
Bearing in mind that nanotechnology is the result of nanoscience, a multi-disciplinary field of science, my study would be highly relevant in different areas of Malta’s economic development; in particular medicine, electronics and energy production. Most likely, my study would serve as a trigger of awareness for others to follow the latest advances in nanotechnology and to attract our industry to invest in such a field and benefit from its revolutionary outcomes.
