In addition to the 40-hour new miner training as required by MSHA, all new underground employees, including those with
experience, receive a minimum of four additional weeks of training when hired. The training is 11hands on" and is taught in a production area designated as a training panel that does not have to meet daily production requirements . The rime spent with
equipment is used to become familiar with the safe operation of machinery and to learn standard operating practices and procedures. All training is the under the direction of a training supervisor and is taught by qualified instructors.
