D1.3. Hotel. The location of the hotel can be a tremendous source of satisfaction or dissatisfaction for the sport tourist. In addition, the sport tourist may also evaluate the ease of access from their room to restaurants, parking, taxi cabs and transportation hubs such as bus stops, airports and train stations. Further, proximity from the hotel to the sporting venue is also an important factor for many travelers (Bernthal & Sawyer, 2004). Hotels that are not within walking distance of the sporting venue often provide shuttles to the venue. When the hotel provides shuttle services, proper signage is important to direct customers to the pick-up and drop-off locations. Based on the rationale as explicated above, we propose the following:
