Good afternoon,
While we did pay the registration fees, the duration of our stay in Thailand has unfortunately been unclear. My current contract lasts until September 2016 and in May, I already asked my employer to issue the contract extension by June already (so that we could confirm to the school and pay tuition). This seems however to not be the normal procedure, as contract extensions are not usually issued 4 months in advance.
As you may understand, we wouldn't be able to pay tuition if we were going to leave Thailand in September 2016 already, but while I still don't have a contract, I now do have indication to believe that we will be here for at least the next 2 school years.
As soon as I got this information, I asked to receive an invoice for the full year tuition, so that we could receive the 3% discount.
Ideally, I would want to pay tuition only once I have the signed contract in my hands! I have therefore been chasing my employer about the renewed contract, and understanding the situation, they did start the contract renewal process 4 months earlier.
While I understand that the school has its own policies, I also understand my employer's reasons for the delay. I am unfortunately caught in the middle and frustrated to be penalized by paying 3% extra for something that is beyond my control.
While they still work on my extended contract, I can share the current contract with you (indicating Sep 2016 as its end date), or ask my employer to provide a letter to explain the delay - if that would help to remove the 3% additional charge.
