To study erosion wear mechanisms that solid catalyst particles impact
the blade material, the situation envisaged is that a large number
of identical solid particles impinging the target at normal incidence. In
this case, the effect of the boundary of the target can be neglected at
the center of the area examined. Hence, the 3D symmetry cell FE
model is proposed, which can reduce the modeling considerably. The
FEmodel withmany parameters should be adjusted in order to achieve
better accuracy and solution stability, while maintaining reasonable
computational time. The dimensions of the proposed symmetry cell
are W × W × H GH738 matrix with a W × W × h Cr3C2/NiCr scale,
