Efforts to apply these policies and best practices have been proven effective, as a recent study conducted by G.P. Wild proves that Cruise Vacations is among the safest mode of leisure transportation.
G. P. Wild analyzed a range of data through 2013 on operational incidents aboard cruise ships – such as fires, technical breakdowns, and collisions.
Worldwide cruise ship capacity grew by more than 18 percent from 2009 to 2013.
Over that same five-year period, the number of operational incidents has declined by 13 percent.
Study found that Cruise travel is safer than other common forms of leisure transportation, with the lowest occurrence of operational-related fatalities across all modes of transport.
