Aerobic Training
• Increases in maximal aerobic power due to training
primarily result from;
– An increase in maximum cardiac output.
– An increased a-v oxygen difference.
• The typical increase in maximum aerobic power is
approximately 10-20 percent for 2-3 months of training,
20-30 minutes, 3 times a week. As with other training
improvement will be slowed as training continues
• However, training at 50% of maximum for 15-30 minutes,
3 times a week has been shown to increase maximum
aerobic power
