Registered nurses (RNs) provide fundamental patient care in hospitals, rehab facilities, nursing homes and home health. Registered nurse jobs involve giving patients medicines and treatments, taking medical histories, helping establish care plans, observing patients and recording the observations, consulting with other clinicians, operating medical equipment, performing tests, and educating patients and their families.
Many RNs supervise nursing aides and licensed practical nurses.
Beyond the clinical, RN job opportunities include nurse faculty, consultant, administrator, researcher, medical writer and sales representative.
