It would be recommendable to have a base ECG, so that before
the clinical presumption of hyperkalaemia we could compare
the layout of the ECG while the serum potassium is analysed,
and visualize changes or arrhythmias to initiate speedy treatment
(20). Not only blood pressure but the standardization of
physical examinations is of great importance. The evaluation of
the central cardiac frequency is important, since a majority of
HD patients display cardiovascular problems, with the possible
appearance of arrhythmias and the subsequent life threatening
risk for the patient.
