I slammed the door of my car shut. I went out of the garage and entered our house. It seems like there's a family gathering. I can smell the aroma of food - most likely chicken and pork... something fried in particular. I heard the voices of some familiar people. Did I miss someone's birthday? Or was there some kind of event I didn't know?
I put my bag down on the couch, expecting our servant to get it and put it in my bedroom. I know I'm a brat but I don't have much time to go to my bedroom especially in times like this when I could hear voices and laughter coming from the dining room. I hurriedly went there, seeing my uncles and aunts talking. I recognized a few cousins.
One cousin caught my attention. But before I could talk to him, I bowed at the elders and greeted them one by one.
Kim Suho. My cousin from the father side. His mother is my father's younger sister. We used to play together when we were kids. I remember playing with his younger brother. I can't remember his name. But his younger brother bid us farewell already. He's presumably dead after a car accident. I remember visiting Suho and his family in the hospital. His face was badly wounded and his legs were injured.
One thing I envy about him is his achievements. In such a young age, he graduated from one of the most prestigious schools in South Korea. After that, he stayed in France to study more about Law. When he came back, he made the girls drop jaws for him. He made the press follow him. He made the criminals pray for mercy. He became the fearless, unbeatable Kim Suho.
I sat next to him. Mother served me with the dishes on the table as expected from her sweet attitude.
"Hello, Chanyeol. It's been awhile.", He initiated a conversation with me.
I smiled. "Oh yes, it is. How's life, cousin?"
"Good. And messy. But I can bear with it.", He replied.
"My, Chanyeol-ah! You've grown so tall and handsome. Are you seeing someone?", Suho's mother interrupted us as she sat opposite to me.
I laughed under my breath. Suho tapped my shoulder lightly and smiled. "Good question, Mom."
Everyone else turned their attention on me. My palms were sweating. I could see the redness of my ears through the glass I'm holding. I'm sorry Sulli, but I have to tell the truth to my family. I'm sure they'll like you. "Yes."
"Good gracious! Why didn't you tell us?", My Dad exclaimed.
I rubbed the back of my neck. "Well.... I was about to tell you, anyway."
"How long have you been with her?" Oho. The prosecutor interrogates.
"We just became a couple. One month, I guess.", I answered.
"Congratulations!", Suho shook my hand.
My turn to interrogate. "How about you, cousin? How's your love life?"
He laughed. "Nothing special."
I raised my eyebrow. "Are you sure?"
"I speak nothing but the truth, Chanyeol.", He replied.
Aigoo. I think I have to tell Sulli that her identity as my girlfriend has been revealed already. I know I'm not good at lying. And Sulli did not tell me to hide our relationship. Maybe I was just afraid.... afraid that they might know her real self especially that Suho is after the largest Mafia of Korea.
