2.2. Governing equations and boundary conditions
By virtue of two empty zones and one catalyst packed bed
encountered in the reaction tube, two sets of governing equations
with one in non-porous zones and the other in porous zone are
taken into account. The governing equations include the continuity,
momentum, energy, and species equations. The equation of
state in the non-porous and porous zones is also considered.
Because of the assumption of axisymmetric flow in the reactor,
two-dimensional simulation is carried out. The governing equations
are tabulated in Table 1.
