In Taiwan, people are queuing for up to half an hour to take pictures next to two post boxes.
The boxes, in Taiwan's capital, Taipei, were battered by a typhoon.
They were hit by a billboard when Typhoon Soudelor hit the island on Saturday.
Two postmen are there to keep the queue in order.
"If people want to, we also pose with them in their pictures," one of the men said.
People are sharing their photos on Facebook.
In mainland China, thousands of people are talking about the pictures.
One said, "Look at them holding each other in the storm!"
Others think it overshadows that the storm killed 20 people and forced hundreds of thousands to leave their homes.
"It wouldn't be funny if the sign fell on two people instead of two post boxes." Taiwanese actress Nita Lei said.
Taiwan's post office says it will preserve the boxes as a reminder of the storm.
