containing identical amounts of CF. On the other hand, Wenk
(2001) underlined that the insoluble and lignified fiber plays a
weak role on the satiety and stomach emptying reduction,
with generally far more important effects on the shortening of
the fecal transit time and in reducing nutrient and energy
digestibility. In this regard, higher stomach refill and DM
content were observed in the acorn-fed pigs(Table2). Hence,
the different amounts of CF cannot be totally excluded as a
dietary factor, though experimental evidences are needed to
assess to which extent CF plays a role in increasing proline
content in digestive secretions.
