What, then, do we mean by rationality? If rationality has unintended
negative impacts that lead even the most celebrated and excellent organizations to create problems for others, why is such action rational?
The overwhelming strength of the domination metaphor is that it
draws our attention to this double-edged nature of rationality, illustrating
that it always reflects a partial point of view. Actions that are rational for
increasing profitability may have a damaging effect on employees' health.
