Exposition: The story starts as Watson is talking to Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock is described as the most resourceful detective in Europe who solves by pure deduction. Watson is Holmes college who sometimes accompanies him in his adventures
Rising Action: This starts as Sherlock receives a guest who makes Sherlock and Watson swear secrecy for 2 years. He introduces himself as Count Von Kramm. After a small part of the meeting, Sherlock discovers that the guest is the future King of Bohemia. He describes that he had an affair with a woman by the name of Irene Adler. He tells them that Irene has a picture of them together and is going to use it to ruin his future marriage. He orders Sherlock to steal the pcture.
Climax: Sherlock Holmes makes an ingenious plan to locate the picture. His theory is that when there is a fire women ran to save their most precious thing. At Irenes house, Watson fakes a fire while Sherlock is hidden looking in the house. Irene thinking there is a fire and runs to a nearby box and takes the picture, knowing where the picture is Watson and Sherlock leave.
Falling Action: The next day Sherlock and Watson return when Irene is out of the house and go to the box where the picture is. Instead of the picture they find a letter directed to Sherlock. It said that Irene had been watching Sherlock and that the picture had been burned. She asked to be left alone forever.
Conclusion: Sherlock never forgot her. He called her “the woman”. It was the only person who in the whole world had fooled Sherlock Holmes
