To determine the quality of crumb rubber, the dried
samples were analyzed using STR20 method. The results
show that quality of dried sample at low drying temperature
and one direction were lower than drying at high drying,
especially for two-stage drying and two-direction of air
flow rate as shown in Table 3. Figure 6 illustrates the simulated
results of specific energy consumption of crumb rubber
STR20 in case of two-stage drying condition. This
shows that the percentage of recycled air between 90 and
95% provided the lowest specific energy consumption as
compared to the others while the volumetric air flow rate
acted as the dominant effect to the specific energy
consumption.
