The village presented in this work as a case study has the possibility
of using animal manure as feedstock to the digester.
Therefore, the focus of the following part is on the literature that
have presented the option of using locally produced biogas from
animal manure in small-scale digesters to produce electricity.
Rahman et al. [30] proposed a hybrid energy system consists of
solar PV arrays, a biogas digester and a biogas engine to provide the
energy demand of households in Bangladesh. Biogas is produced
locally from cattle manure in a small digester. The produced biogas
is used both for cooking facility and electricity generation. The results
show that if the household has more than three cattle, this
system can provide the cooking and electricity demand of the
household.
