Printers will need to work with their selected ink vendor, and or in plant ink kitchen to have updated ink formulation software (iFS 6.1 or higher) from X-rite, with a PantoneLIVE license connection. All Pantone Master and Dependent libraries would be accessible in the cloud based on ink type, print process, and substrate. A technical forum, of Sun Chemical (consulting) X-rite and Esko will be available for each to answer any printer specific questions.
This may also require updates to in plant quality control software and devices, such as spectrophotometers to be XRGA certified and updated. There may be some costs associated to this change, to make these devices and software PantoneLIVE compatible.
