High temperature TCR between high thermal conductivity C/C
material and superalloy Inconel 600 under different interface conditions
is experimentally investigated here. This research was
motivated by the lack of measured TCR between high thermal conductivity
C/C material and superalloy Inconel 600 under high temperatures.
Results presented in this paper will be the first set of
experimental data in TCR of high thermal conductivity C/C material.
Results obtained here provide not only a better understanding
of TCR, but also a database for engineering applications.
Results show that TCR between high thermal conductivity C/C
material and superalloy Inconel 600 under the 2.82 MPa contact
pressure is around 5 105 m2 K/W, and it is strongly pressure
and temperature dependent. It is necessary to take into account
the effect of the thermal contact resistance in high thermal conductivity
C/C material related structure design. At the same time,
the high thermal conductivity C/C material is very brittle, so special
considerations should be given in engineering practice where high
thermal conductivity C/C material is used.
