Medial epicondylitisAnatomy and pathophysiologyEpicondyles are curved bones at the distal end of the humerus bone. Epicondyles are located on the medial side of the elbow and serve as attachment points for muscles and the five tendons that form the common flexor tendon (CFT). The muscular and skeletal structures involved in this include (from proximal to distal): pronator teres, flexor carpi radialis, palmaris longus, flexor digitorum superficialis, and flexor carpi ulnaris. The anatomical attachment of the CFT to the medial epicondyle of the humerus bone is shown in Figure 1.
