Phenolic compounds including protocatechuic acid, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, vanillic acid, caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid and
ferulic acid in both tissue cultured and acclimatized M. plumbea plantlets were quantified using UPLC-MS/MS. Deuterium-labelled internal standards of 4-hydroxybenzoic (2,3,5,6-D4) and salicylic(3,4,5,6-D4) acids were added to extraction solvent prior to plant material homogenization. The supernatants were filtered through
0.45 m nylon membrane filters (Alltech, Breda, Netherlands).
