JOB PURPOSE
To set up strategic plan for External Relations Activities in Southern provinces of Thailand, especially in Songkhla, Ranong where company operates.
To maintain and keep “License to Operate” and enhance company reputation.
To be PSB Media Response Team Leader.
DIMENSION
Authorities and communities where PSB operates area coverage Songkhla, Nakorn srithammarat, Suratthani, Chumporn, Pattani and Ranong Province.
To manage local media, public and official relations in these provinces.
Budget Expenditure OPEX: 10 MTB.
Number of subordinate: 5 Staff
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To set up strategic plan with Corporate External Relations on Social Investment, Stakeholder Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility, Government & Community Relations, and Communications Activities in the south of Thailand where PSB operates.
To keep and maintain favourable relationship between the Company and local authorities, media and communities.
To be a Media Response Team Leader in Songkhla area.
To handle issues and complaints and ensure that all issues and complaint are closed out properly.
To initiate and implement Stakeholder Engagement & Social Investment projects under the philosophy “Community involvement and Sustainability relationship”.
To provide and coordinate effective stakeholder engagement planning and activities for all field project.
To enhance and promote SSHE Awareness and Sustainability Development to local communities.
To support Corporate External Relations and Offshore Asset for EIA process (PH/PP) where PSB operates.
To evaluate effectiveness and outcomes of Stakeholder Engagement process, Social Investment and Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
KEY CHALLENGES
To keep and maintain “License to Operate”: The environmental activist group are likely interested on energy industries than others. Although everyone knows that energy is one of the necessary things for human. But the environmental impact issue still exists due to lack of operation control process, communication with key stakeholders etc. To avoid the issues and maintain favourable relationship with local communities in the operation area, PSB External Relations strategic plan must be set up and review regularly in order to keep and maintain “License to Operate”. Stakeholder Engagement, Social Investment, Corporate Social Responsibility, Issue Identification Management and Communications are essential tools to support and enhance company reputation.
Enhance Company Reputation: To be a company representative attending social events. Promote company’s activities in the operating areas. Maintain good relationship with local media. Ensure that grant and donation process has contributed to company reputation.
Emergency and Crisis: To be PSB Media Response Team Leader on emergency or crisis situation. Effectively handle local media and authorities in order to minimize impact to company reputation
QUALIFICATION
At least Bachelor degree or higher in Social Science, Political Science, Public Relations or related fields.
At least 10-12 years of work experience in external relations, community relations from oil and gas especial exploration and production business or related fields.
Excellent inter-personal relationship and influencing skills. Very adaptable, be comfortable with people and places of different types and levels.
Good in managerial skills
Willing to live and work upcountry.(Songkhla)
Good command of both written and spoken English (TOEIC 750 at minimum or other English test score in equivalent)
Southern dialect specking is advantage in order to deal with local community and fit with local culture.
