Vientiane is the capital of Lao PDR , which declared to be an independence state from French colonization for certain region in 1949 before complete independent in 1953. Lao PDR is divided into 16 administrative regions with one special administrative region approximately the population of 6.8 million people
There are ruling by communist socialism* or officially called The People democratic system with the constitution as the supreme law of the state. The President is the Head of State
is elected by the National Parliament serve a 5-year term with the Prime Minister appointed by the National Parliament, nominated by the President, serving as the Chief Administrator. It is of the unicameral system called as the National Parliament where parliamentarians from people election serve a 5-year term. One parliamentarian represents 50,000 people of one constituency. Any constituency of less than 150,000 people shall be entitled for 3 representatives.
Lao PDR has only one political party, which is Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. Therefore, candidates belong to the only one party while independent candidates are allowed to participate.
Election management has temporary committee will be set up 120 days prior to the general election and will be ended after the first assembly of the new parliament. The committee is of 4 levels –the national, the ward and the district, the city and the polling station.
