The Central Institute of Forensic Science – CIFS was formally established in October 2002 pursuant to the State Administrative Act (NO.4) B.E. 2543 (2002) and the Ministerial Regulations for the Reorganization of Ministry B.E.2545 (2002) and became operational in December 2002. The CIFS is an independent agency of the police department providing forensic services pertinent to the maintenance and development of quality and best practice in forensics . It also implements objective and informed voice of forensic science standards in support of the
criminal justice system. During the past decade, it has consolidated multidisciplinary forensic experts and become a national, integrated crime scene to court forensic service provider. Today , the CIFS plays an important role in the effectiveness of modem forensic service. We determine to acquire and maintain the international standards of our services, as wall as being transparent, equally accessible and fulfill an inadequacy in the criminal justice system.
