In Potpec reservoir the poor floristic variety
has been noted and the huge development of
green alga Mougeotia Agardh sp. at the localities
at the dam and in central part of reservoir. As
subdominant the following species are noted:
Fragilaria ulna (Nitzsch) Lange-Bert. var. acus
(Kütz.) Lange-Bert. and Ceratium hirundinella
(O.F.M.) Bergh. Very numerable are also the populations of species Fragilaria crotonensis
Kitton, Planktothrix rubescens (De Candolle ex
Gom.) Anagn. et Kom. and species of genera
Dinobryon. Zooplankton community is charac terised by 38 taxa (Table 2). Rotatoria is the
dominant group in zooplankton with 23 taxa,
Cladocera and Copepoda are present with 6 and
3 taxa respectively, and Protozoa with 6 taxa The highest zooplankton density was noted at
the depth of 6 m in central part of reservoir
(2,530,992 ind. m−3
), and lowest in surface layer,
at the entrance of reservoir (31,200 ind. m−3
).
At the dam locality, Rotatoria had the highest population density. The dominant species was
Ploesoma truncatum with 1,147,600 ind. m−3
in
surface water layer, and subdominant Keratella
